The subject and composition of my paintings are only a framework for the quest to reflect and visualize time. The images I use (own sketches, own photography or pictures taken from magazines or the internet) are originally static. I create the dynamics on the canvas.
The figurative is abstracted and by using dynamic, powerful and repetitive brushstrokes I try to capture the moment in which new vibrations arise. What fascinates me is playing with the suggestion of movement and space.
This way spectators become part of the fragile moment of the clock ticking forward, when a paper-thin separation between past and present emerges.
Time does not pass us, we pass the time.
